Ah, okay I understand where you could have gotten confused.
Once again I really am not familiar with "-chan" "-san" etc.etc. types of naming soo...it was also partially my ignorance.

yeah, Japanese is confusing.
What I got out of it, is that -chan is used mostly for girls younger than yourself. It's more feminine and can be used for insecure boys as well or in the context, onii-chan would be a younger speaking or addressing an older individual.

-san is more of a respectable title. Something you would address your coworker or an individual of equal status.

-sama is a lord's title. someone of the highest status, almost at worshiping level like the king or the president

-kun is the same as "-chan" but towards younger boys.

This has taken me years to understand thoroughly and I'm still not sure if it's correct...
